Waking up and Coming Home

Well, in between errands and events, I’ve spent the last two days in Lancaster County following Rachel and Phillip into a mysterious questionable postcard that was found in an old roll top desk. (The Postcard, Beverly Lewis)  Each time I come out of a book, it feels like I’ve been on a long vacation with friends.  Now I see I must have used my sweeping, vacuuming, dusting and laundry time visiting Lancaster County.
Spring is on full force with hints of summer through the warmest parts of the day.  In our new home, there are dozens of bulbs peeping through the soil, and buds of yellow, purple and pink and starting to wink at me. The trees do not have leaves hey, but the buds show promise that May will be a beautiful month here on the high desert.  The yard our front has returned from its brown dormant state to a beautiful sprinkling of green.  It is not lush, but it is pretty, with few weeds.
Well, the boys would like me to help them finalize the big pond they are building, jon wants to work on some project and was asking where I hid his nails and hammer when I cleaned out the garage this week, Nate needs help moving the hose from the front to the back, and their friend Morgan is over for a visit while his mom gets some R&R with friends in Portland.
I’m off to the races of the day.
