Well, its finally done.  We have a working home network.  We have had clear wire since October of 06.  Since that time, I have not been able to make a network.  Crazy! First the sound went out on the tower computer, so we sort of quit using it.  It crashed, virus, we had to re-install xp.  The sound card on the mother board could not be found.  Arg.  I used to be a network administrator, and installed all of the hardware for over 30 users.  Arg.  A simple home network and I feel doomed.  I’d fiddle a bit, then walk away.  Wait, in between fiddling and walking usually came yelling screaming and nashing of teeth.

Today, I went to a computer store, purchased a sound card for twenty bucks and installed it.   Instant sound.  Good Gravy.  Listening to Natalie Grant, Deeper Life, I decided to sit down and fix the Home network.  Right now it works like this, you save something on a jump drive, and then jump to the main computer, turn it on, and then print.  Jump back.  Email things to myself and answer it on the other computer.  Clever eh?

After working over 3 hours, and still not being able to find a network map or having my lap top find the printer, I finally did a search on Home Networking for Dummies.  Up pops networkmagic.com  (http://www.networkmagic.com) It says it has a free trial and it will INSTANTLY solve all my problems.  Sounds too good to be true, but its after 11 pm. and i’m gullible.  How hard could it be?

Instant down load on the lap top, instant down load on the tower, batta bing batta bam, it sees each other, sees the printer, downloads a driver for the printer on my laptop, hooo ya we’re up and running.  5 minutes tops.  Good Gravy.

So, now I’ll download network magic on darren’s laptop and he will be thrilled to print all of his freebie coupons and offers. 🙂  Woo hoo

Its 23.00 to keep it, I have 30 days to figure out if I use it alot. Heck.  I figure I owe them 23 dollars for free tech help just now. :0  It also will track where the computers have been on the internet, for how long, and what pages were visited, for how long.  I will keep it on.  The tower is in the boys play room and they like some different sites.  Their friends get on and I’ll make up a sign that says, I’m tracking you!!!!!  bwa a ha ha ha ha ahhhaaaaa cough cough sputter sputter. Ahem.
