Planting for butterflies

I asked Jon to dig me a hole for the new plant we purchased at the Butterfly Pavilion in Elkton, Oregon.  He really wanted me to see the hole, and I really wanted to get done making our Oyster Sandwiches.

I finally came out and saw the cutie job he did.  He put rocks all around so the chickens could not scratch it up.  He put a board up so that it could rest on it, then he put pine cones around to hold it together in the holes. I thought he had decorated it with the pine cones.  He was very excited to have a new plant to take care of.  Maybe we could get him more excited about taking care of plants instead of frogs and lizards. . . . . .
