As the wonder turns into curiosity

Curiosity killed the cat?  Or does curiosity get the bee hive torn apart?  We have had fun watching the pollination in the back yard, however, there has been a growing excitement over the actual pollen carriers. There is a pipe in the south west corner of the back yard.  Jon was playing with said pipe a while back and got a really bad sting on his thumb.  He made the manly proclamation that he’d never go into the back yard again.  But in the true style of being a "little sherm" (family will understand), he was in the back yard the next morning hurling lava rock at the tube to make one fly out so he could see what it was.  For the past few days, all THREE of my little boys have been out hurling rocks at the tube. They found out last evening that no wasps flew out on the ready from their taunting.  What they decided is that it was too cold for them to want to fly. Oh the whooping and hollering of the joy of conquering. So, they got the paper hive out of the pipe and set to dissecting every little part, and then torturing a paper wasp.  Yeah.  But we do have pictures, taken by Nathan. 🙂

and one picture apparently of the apples they picked up from the ground while getting their school pictures taken yesterday at the park. They were playing apple baseball while watching the families pose.
