Changes in our learning

So, what does this mean for change?

I am going to take the advice of another friend from our homeschool board, who said she teaches one academic topic per week.  We have a need to learn so many things, and I like the idea of focus being on one topic for a reason for  a week or how ever many days seem to be needed. We have been doing bible, writing, spelling, english, literature, math, awana memory and keepers on a daily basis.  This will come to an abrupt end. 🙂  We will still do bible reading with breakfast, it is my favorite time of day.  I will designate a white board to put the awana verses on and the boys can review them when they want to. Yesterday Nate walked around with his starter sheet and read the  whole thing through and realized he knew most of the verses from Good News club. He was very excited.  We will still do a page or two  of math every other day or so with both boys as they really enjoy the miquon puzzles and time figuring them out.  However, I am going to take a break from english and grammar and even the forced reading.  I will see if over the course of a week or two if Nathan doesn’t start to enjoy un-forced reading a bit more as he had the joy in the spring.   I’ll keep ya posted.   Thanks for your prayers.
