Merry Christmas!

Here is the shot at our house this Christmas Eve.  Earlier, we were all dressed up to go sing at church and do our candle lit service.  As are all things related to Compass, it wasn’t exactly traditional, but it actually helped me to take a breath and relax.  It was great to hear the challenge this evening, of the Born Ultimatum.  We have heard all month long about his Identity and Supremacy.   Tonight we heard about the ultimatum. Challenged as to what we are going to do now that we know who He is and what He has done.  We know that He is coming again.  And tonight, the challenge wasn’t as strong as how are we going to live and be ready, but rather a more simple plea. Are you ready?  Have you taken the gift?  Christmas isn’t really about a birthday, since most people acknowledge that He would have been born around the time of the Feast of Sukkot.  The Feast of the Tabernacle, and that He came to Tabernacle with us.  Christmas isn’t really about all of the other Holy Days that we have learned about, traditions set forth by many cultures to remember a person or an event or a miracle from the Lord.  Christmas really is about the gift. The Gift of Christ.  The Gift is Christmas. Christmas is the Gift.  I know that I am thankful that God was the original gift giver, and I am ever so thankful of the gift!
