We are in the beginning chapters of Beth Moore Believing God – and we are only doing about 2-3 days per week of the lessons, and with the holidays, we are only meeting 2-3 times per month. Darren called me on being negative yesterday twice – seeing the cup half empty a couple of times, and said he’d choose to see the cup half full. . . . . Then it occurred to me this morning that I’m not doing my morning devotionals like I like, because my focus was on the homework for the class. I’m caught up in homework . . . . and there is plenty of GeoChallenge to play. So – I am going to work on getting up early again, getting my hot cup of Joe and leaving the computer for later in the day.
In the summer, my favorite activity was to get up early, water the garden, talk to the hens, and wrap up in an afgan made by my sister in law, and have a cup of Joe. Pray in the morning, then frustrate the neighbors by trying my hand at learning the electric keyboard with a three chord hymn book I found. Then read a Psalm, a Proverb and then whatever else was laid to mind. Then start the day. Now that it is in the low 20’s in the morning, the outside front porch deal isn’t very delightful.
If you think of me, in the mornings, you can pray for my habits to get back in check. Maybe I"ll start walking in the mornings and pray through the mile.
