Seems to be the way I work. I like to see and know the big picture. I think and ponder and look. Understanding the beginning to the end of a project. Only then, can I sit and fix up the little pieces in between. I have done this with the academics and house projects. Then I add WAY to much detail – to strip away to see the essentials. The Simple. It would take an album to show you what progress my little chart went through. But now, at the end, it is surprising to see how simple it ended up.
For organizing our week – My goal is to have the boys know what activities are on the horizon, to plan, prioritize and be responsible for their work. I want them to be able to see the week’s confirmed unchangeable activities like sign language, Awana, Chemistry. I’d like them to look forward to Crystal Peaks times and Hang Time with friends. The upper sections are their items to accomplish in the day- before the afternoon fellowship times. No electronics until the top is finished. So there will be yellow tags for academics and green tags for the daily chores. Finish, and rip it off or mark the line. Jon likes to mark through and then see what sort of day he had. Nate, the sixth grader likes to tear them off never to reappear again. So – Week one, with a new scheduling system. Lets see how long we last. Oh – and the academics/chores will only be put up day by day. If I get excited and feel like pre-planning, I could make up the tags and put them on the back. The paper has been covered in Laminate so I can use Dry Erase markers as well. . . . .
All Ready for Weds!
