Happy Birthday Jesus!

So we celebrate Christmas for the joy of His Birth!  Right? Wrong. Nope. Not us. We celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles in the fall, a time to remember that He came to dwell with us!  I wrote about it this year in this post. A very short time spent researching when Christ’s Birthday occurred will bring you more information than you ever wanted to know – but they all focus on one thing – It twain’t durin’ December 25th!.  Now  – Call me crazy, but if y’all started celebrating my birthday on January 10th, because it was more convenient for you, it wouldn’t feel very special for me. So – the whole manger thing in the snow really doesn’t make alot of sense to me. How is an entire religious culture quiet about this? Once you find out – that it really isn’t His Birthday, and that His birthday does happen to be documented, even in scripture, your informative voice is frowned on. Lets not go against the flow. Sigh. Ignorance is bliss, but this family does NOT celebrate Christ’s Birth on December 25, but rather during the Feast of Tabernacles. 🙂

Forget about the fact that the wise men wouldn’t have been in the manger scene, . . .  um or alot of the other story that seems to all happen in a 24 hr period.  Sigh. So we educate the boys with scripture.  This year, since we didn’t put up our tabernacle in October due to our move, it has a little spot on top of a table in the living room. Wisemen and all. 🙂
