The Wright Family Traditions – Wrap UP

So, If you’ve pondered on to this site today, you might want to scroll down to see the intro – of our Family Traditions.

We don’t do any of it full bore. We might do 2-6 nights of Hanukah. We might do One tree Lighting. We might do a few new ornaments for our Jesse Tree. We haven’t been able to purchase presents for extended family and friends for quite a few years. We havn’t  spent alot of money on presents for the boys. Reading through our Holiday Ideas all in one swoop may sound exhausting or overkill.  But we keep it simple or creative.  Last year we did the Jesse Tree each night.  When we celebrated Jon’s Birthday he wanted a Lego Party. The company we contacted sent about 60 extra minifig parts. Each night that they wanted to read a prophecy, they got to pick a new minifig.  Ya. Every night. Without fail. 🙂 This year, they do not seem as ambitious to read all of the prophecies and fulfillments.  Hanukah starts around the 11th this year, after St Nicks Day, so we might do that for the entire time. We might get a pool pass as a family gift and be at the pool in the evenings and not able to leave the candles burning. We’ll have cookies either way. And we’ll have stockings hung by the fire. All in all it all mingles together. But we keep each day separate, talked about after dinner, read about in scripture, and all pointed to Christ. 🙂

What tradition do you have year after year? Do you know why you do it? Do you know how it was started? Do you keep it going just because it has always been done?  We have a Christmas Eve Dinner Tradition that reminds me of my grandparents. Share your traditions with me, or challenge my thoughts on mine. 🙂
