Round about the 10th of December, a cold snap came though town, freezing everything. We don’t live in a town that is used to 20 degree temps, it hovers around 40-60 all year long. 🙂 (yep even in summer). The ice, in the deepest set that we could free was about 2 inches thick. It would melt on top, and then refreeze, and to the naked eye it didn’t look like ice. It was amazing. The boys spent 2-3 days studying all things ice. In Central Oregon, the ice froze solid in our ponds, and they had negative 18 degree weather, so there wasn’t alot of outdoor discovery, unless it warmed up to 10 in the afternoon. So – yep, we had a lot of fun studying ice. Even went ice skating at the beach!
