The Summer School Dilemma – Solved with Wisdom

Oh the joys mid summer, Water Warming, Corn on the Cob, Frog Chasing, Tan Darkening, Nap Taking Summer.  If you’re a kid.

If you are a mom – of school age children– It can become a time of stress. As each day is ticked off the calendar – worry can mount for the path you’ve taken taken.

Have you spent the Summer Wisely?  Are your academic choices best? Have you spent enough time with the kiddos? Have you spent too much time? Did you pick the right curriculum or school? Should you switch paths in the middle? Or before you’ve even started?

This week I have been dealing with discouragement in my own heart – I’ve written about it on my pondering pages today –

And I wanted to take a minute to Encourage YOU!!! To urge you to seek the Lord in these decisions for the upcoming year.  Forgetting what has gone on in the past – and what other parents are urging you to do – and to spend time in the Word – seeking out the direction the Lord wants for your children. It may shock you that He is ready for a change in your family – regarding your education choices – of the where or how or what.  Pray about it.

No matter where your child receives academic training –
I urge you to be actively involved in their Righteousness training.

The number one resource that has helped me through the training of my children has come through Doorposts.net.

The past 24 hours I have been seeking verses that will help me be encouraged – through God alone – not through people – and I pulled out my handy dandy “For Instructions of Righteousness” book – to use for me.

I purchased For Instruction in Righteousness several years ago when the boys were yet tiny. Even when Jon as 2 – Reading the scriptural response to Sin – and to Favor – got through to him far better than any “mommy words” ever could. I have used the guide through scriptures time and again to help me find the Words of Wisdom for my life.

And – Speaking of Wisdom – We are walking through the Book of James on Sunday Mornings and  –

James urges us to ask for Wisdom – it will not be something just sprinkled into your Christian Life – James 1:5 – from the Amplified –

James 1:5If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of [b]the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.

Ask for peace from the Lord – and rest in the knowledge that He directs our paths.  Rest in the knowledge that He loves and has a plan for your child – and that your choices will be a part of that plan, God will Work to His Good Will – how their future turns out. :)  Rest in the knowledge that He is in Control!

Here is the rest of the short passage – in the Amplified –

(Angie – the Pebblekeeper – A Servant of God and the Lord Jesus – to the moms scattered and yet drawn by the Holy Spirit – GREETINGS!!!!!)

1JAMES, A servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes scattered abroad [among the Gentiles in the dispersion]: Greetings ([a]rejoice)!

2Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.

3Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.

4But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.

5If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of [b]the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.

6Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.

7For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord,

8[For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides].

9Let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his elevation [as a Christian, called to the true riches and to be an heir of God],

10And the rich [person ought to glory] in being humbled [by being shown his human frailty], because like the flower of the grass he will pass away.

11For the sun comes up with a scorching heat and parches the grass; its flower falls off and its beauty fades away. Even so will the rich man wither and die in the midst of his pursuits.(A)

12Blessed (happy, [c]to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor’s] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.

Amen! Love all the Doorposts products. We refer to the charts daily 🙂 and pull out the For Instruction… for specifics. You are right – it’s for parents too. By standing on His Word you can never go wrong and you will receive the wisdom you need by asking. Great reminder and urging! Thanks.

I love to hear from my readers, I appreciate comments!
