First Beachcombing Day

Seasons. You have Spring, Summer, Winter, Autumn – and -   – – Beachcombing! Yes! October ushers in Beachcombing Season! The fog is gone, the air is clean and crisp and despite the best efforts of our local community – the tourists have thinned out.  Our town promotes Finders Keepers – a program where they put out numbered glass floats from local artists – in total of 2,011 this year – a few each day through May!  We packed up our beach bag and headed out!

What? How’d that get in there?  A mug full of hot coffee and my book bag? My rumpus on the beach? Oh -  That’s how I roll. 🙂

In a couple of storms the sand will be stripped away. They won’t be able to climb up here.

We got to the “Mom please quit taking pictures of me!” phase. oops.  We drew a little. Read a little. Played a little. Walked A little. 🙂 Laughed alot!

In the end, we visited the Casino, 34th Street, D River, Nelscott and Taft throughout the day. Nathan found a float first thing in the morning. The float on the left is dark green. The red and orange glass disks were found today too. They have a crab stamped on them. The blue float to the left was found last spring. Nate came home and made this arrangement.
