The last few days on the Central Oregon Coast have been C. O. L. D. Well. For us that is. It’s dropped past our comfortable 50’s into the 30’s for a couple of days. The precipitation has fallen softly, dusting white across the landscape. Snow might be a bit of a large word for the accumulation we enjoyed. I hear that further east they got a couple of inches, but here, a mile from the Ocean, close to the warm water of the lake – not so much. 🙂 The photo above was taken the morning of the “Big Snow” on Tuesday that closed the school down.
The rooftops were White. It was sort of pretty. But the Grass is Still Green.
Jon tried to make the most of it. The Deck was pretty frozen. I caught him trying to launch himself down the stairs and almost had heart failure. I screamed and ran and panicked and prayed while having visions of his open head wounds while I tried to sling open the sliding glass window. He looked at me like I was a loon. Later he said that the FIRST TWO TIMES he slid down the stairs it felt safe. Can I just give out a shoutout of thankfulness to his guardian angels that seem to have to work overtime for this critter?
With noggin in tact – I’ll show you some color in the garden – The Roses re-bloomed. Several of them are full bud – and I think this last frost bid good bye to the tomatoes. The maples are turning beautifully – and the last shot is the “snow” on the hedges. 🙂
Hope your “snow” was a little more exciting than ours. 🙂
