First Day of No School–Again –

I woke up to little posters next to my coffee, computer, devotional book – BEACH + DOUG NUTS.  Not exactly knowing what a doug nut was, I had considered letting the boys sleep until I figured it out. But – It was a  Gorgeous Day on the Central Oregon Coast. And I was starting to crave a Doug Nut.

So we:

  • Went to the beach
  • Took a 137 photos
  • Watched the Sunrise light up the twilight
  • Recited – Red Sky in Morning Sailors Heed Warning
  • Watched a seal.
  • Watched the dog.
  • Went to Lighthouse Donuts for Doughnuts, or DOUG NUTS
  • Came home and talked with dad for an hour before he went to work
  • Enjoyed Positive Action for Christ, Awana Bk 1, 7.4, and My Utmost for His Highest
  • Worked on Times Alive
  • Started Drawing Textbook by Timberdoodle while learning Sketchbook Pro with the Wacom Tablet
  • Daily Grams
  • Mind Builders Social Studies
  • Phonetic Zoo for Spelling
  • Made dad a nice lunch
  • Went down to the dock for 20 minutes for some Vitamin D
  • Ate lunch with Dad on the Deck
  • Set up a cot to read and take a nap, Skipped the nap. Got served hot tea by my son. Smile
  • came in and edited the 237 photos from the day.
  • Wrote a little post about it goes like this: (wait you already read it)
  • Going to go to a Junior Leader’s Movie Night Out at church tonight – How to Train Your Dragon – which is good, cause we’ve been wondering.
  • Whew. That will put us at 9pm

Maybe tomorrow will be the first day of no school day – Again.

  1. Sounds wonderful Angie. I miss you by the way. I know we only met a couple of times and chatted a few more times than that…but I like you. I had some religious issues I was wrestling with and I think I got those worked out… anyway, sorry for disappearing. Hugs to you and your boys.

Absolutely wonderful! I think that I’m going to come hang out and unschool with you 🙂

  5. I LOVE the ocean. I would NEVER do school if I lived near it; I grew up near it, East Coast though. Never been to the west coast. Hope to someday soon. My sister just got married and moved to CA. What perfect day, esp. with the addition of the doughnuts! I came from the Home-school Hip Hop.

  6. Sounds like a perfect day.
I was craving a DOUG NUT today, too. Who needs the “h” anyway!

Maybe if I go to bed earlier I can get up earlier.

This was our First Day of J-Term.
And I want a doug nut, still. with sprinkles.
