We have had our eye out for Winter Weeds and Seeds thanks to the challenge at Outdoor Hour Challenge – Winter Weed Nature Study. Armed with a new camera, we headed to the beach for a bit.
I noticed this seaweed. The tips are turning white.
The new growth? is white. I am still trying to look it up. Spring (in the PNW comes early) is a perfect time to see the beautiful colors of the plants in the tide pool rocks.
Monday, I got to take a mini field trip to the south side of the lake. They have a floating dock/deck for folks to walk on the wetlands.
I found some beautiful seeds.
And Moss.
This is the bush pulled back.
I have no idea what these are, but they caught my attention. Now I have 3 new plants to draw in the journal and look up in my field guides! We’ve been outside for the last few days due to the warm weather here on the Oregon Coast. I’m excited to capture these and have a treasure hunt waiting to find out!
