We got to the beach and it was under 30 degrees outside. The positive, is that the sun was full force and there was zero wind!

Hubby got to building a fire and the kids got to their scrimmage football and Frisbee games to keep warm.

It was a beautiful day at the beach to celebrate becoming a teenager with friends!

As the sun went down, it got pretty frigid!

The guests stayed pretty close to the fire. We were wishing someone had thought to bring a guitar or some speakers.

After the lights dimmed, we gathered for a photo then shifted the party from the expected night games on the beach to Pizza and a Pool party. We shut the pool down at 9 and had a great day. From the surprise of the board being finished on his birthday – to a full day with friends – and a wonderful evening of warm water play – it was a great way to usher in the 13th year – and finally being a teen.
