Loving Yachats, and a cliff playing warning

We stopped in Yachats to meet some of the boys’ friends. It was half blue sky, half fog. Beautiful.

We were drawn to a bay with beautiful waves. Flowing into a nice cove, a bit of rocks, but mostly clean lines.

Then we headed to their farmer’s market. I picked up a few finger bowls and a tea cup.

We stopped at Smelt Beach. There is a beautiful maintained path along the cliffs. These are pretty small cliffs, easy to walk out on, yet, they are still dangerous.

Beware this winter of the powerful waves. In Newport, Oregon, two people rode their bikes out on the rocky bar and held on to a pole at the end to have a birds eye view of the crashing waves. Strong healthy active youth. One big wave and they were swept out to sea. People saw it happen. One was found, the other was not. Don’t let your youth and strength make you feel secure on these rocky cliffs. “Speak up to those in danger. To those taking risks along the shore, Listen.”
