Filled with living book stories, observations in the field an in books, we settled into the living room to relax with our Nature Journal entries.

I am really enjoying the closing of these observations with writing down our learning findings.  I will cut out their entries and insert them into our Handbook of Nature Study Notebook.

Jon and I used a tip from the Handbook of Nature Study’s May Newsletter and made these fun Notebooking Pages using a sharpie, a plastic cup, and some water color pencils. Note that Daddy had a muddy foot after helping us find frogs. . . .

Nate liked what was going on, so he made a few circles of his own . . .

I wish I could report that he was drawing Frog Eggs, and just left out the tiny dot in the middle representing the baby tadpole . . . He did make another one with my favorite colors and gave it to me as a card for Mother’s Day last Sunday.

The boys are recording how long it took for the eggs to hatch. We have not seen any rear or front legs yet, and it has been a couple of weeks with the tadpoles in the house. I’ll keep ya posted.
