This week I continued on the list of home made cleaners and ventured into the line of Dish Soaps. For this one – at first set up – I would not be able to say it was Inexpensive. The liquid Castile Soap is $11.00 and the Glycerin is $7.00 here in the northwest. However, the Name Brand Dish Soap that I was going to purchase was $3.00, and I have already re-filled the bottle two times. ( I have quite a few Essential Oils, I have no idea how much it would cost to replace them)
However, the ingredients make my fingers happy!
Certified Fair Trade Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps, 18-in-1 Hemp Citrus Orange Pure castile Soap made with organic oils – Coconut, Potassium, Olive, Orange, Hemp Jojoba, Lemon, and Lime Oils. This castile soap (in any “flavor”) is an ingredient in many of the recipes on the list.
Glycerin Skin Protectant, Pure Natural Skin Softener is used to prevent and temporarily protect chafed chapped cracked or wind burned skin and lips.
1 Ounce of Liquid Castile Soap (any brand), 2 cups water, 1 tsp Glycerin, and 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil.
I use the lid to a Dutch Love Cocoa Steamer to pour the ingredients directly into a used soap container. As you can see – after the initial $20.00 ish investment, I will be able to make many batches of Organic Home Made Dish Soap.
Breakdown by Covenant Creek –
Dawn Dish Soap – Cost $3.59 – 22 oz, Price Per Ounce .16
Home Made Soap – Cost Per Batch – 88 Cents – 17.2 Oz, Price per Ounce .05
