More thoughts on “religion”

I watched a Beth Moore video this week – Week 5 of Believing God. OH my. I’m still mulling it over. I would love to share the video with anyone that has questioned "religion" or "denominations" or "what is the right church for me?". Anyone dissatisfied with their church community. I love to write – however, I do not have the words that I want to say. I read my friend’s blogs and think – thats EXACTLY what I would have said – granted I had the gift of words that they have. I’m a reader and a muller. I chew on it so to speak. Then, my fingers here – and in my journal – try to write down what I remember the most – and hide it in my heart. So – that said – I thought I’d type out some of the things that Beth said that meant the most to me. No huge narration of what it meant to me – just that I liked it. 🙂

(printed from page 94) God is in the process of raising mighty warriors among His people. The common denominator will not be human leadership, denomination, ethnicity or giftedness. the common denominators will be consistent with those throughout biblical history (Eph 6:10-18).
Shield of Faith
Sword of the Spirit
Communication with the commander – Praying in the spirit at all times.

The church also has an earthly promised land that precedes her heavenly land of promise. The New Test. tells us that before the end of times the church will be purified, unified, fortified and anointed to prophesy – or proclaim truth. Acts. 2:17, Jon 17, etc.

God warned the children of Israel not to fall for two of the biggest obstacles any of us will have about the fulfillment of God’s personal promises: Fear, and discouragement. Hatat to be discouraged, shattered, be afraid, be dismayed .. . The meaning of the term ranges form a literal breaking to a military destruction to a de moralization.

Are you afraid of failure? God said that he will never fail us. The word Rapah means to be slack, be remiss, be idle, be weak. The basic ideal of relaxing the hand. Our responsibility is to be strong and courageous. Strong chazaq to be bound fast to be attached to make firm be valiant to harden. Our success will be holding tight to the One who has us in His Grip.

When we look at the church – are we seeing failure? Are we fearful of making the wrong choice? Do we justify why our choice is right? Are we fearful of being attached to the wrong doctrine? The church is going to rise up with people who read God’s word. Who use their faith as a shield. Are you taking the faith out of faith? Do you have faith in your faith? Being in the word will strengthen that! People who are able to yield the sword of the Spirit – the Bible – will be the ones on the front lines. People who are in constant prayer will be ready. Does this speak of rules? Ordinances? Traditions? Dress? Atire? Looks like we can be naked with a sword and shield- helmet and shoes, and a belt . . . and be fine. More than fine – We can be conquerers. When we look at the church are we more concerned with uniformity to our desires or unity of our faith? Uniformity or Unity?
