Friday Hike to Drift Creek Falls

We went on the most amazing hike today to the Drift Creek Falls.   – We drive up the hill inland about 10 miles to the trailhead – (911 feet Elev), then walk in a switchback to the bridge – (630 feet elev), and then straight down to the river’s edge – (532 feet elev).  Drift Creek falls is a 75 foot horsetail type waterfall viewed above from a 240 foot suspension bridge that is 100 feet above the creek. The trail is about a mile and a half from the parking lot to the water’s edge at the bottom of the falls.

The spring flowers are out in full force, I ran out of battery power on my point and click Cyber Shot – I took over 150 photos and narrowed it down to 50ish . . . . So you have a choice – Online Album to scroll through – or You Tube Video set to music that is 2 and a half minutes long . . . . 🙂

  2. Truly amazing!! Now that my boys are getting older, I want to find great trails like this. I still have to carry C sometimes but it’s getting easier.

I have been learning that alot of people hike down there in the summer to swim in the huge pool under the falls. Sounds wonderful, and is 10 miles inland, so it would be warm. And, the 3 mile round trip hike would weed out the masses. 🙂 The hike down is DEVINE. The hike back reminds you that you’re burning off the calories of the Fritos that are waiting you in the car. . . . .
