A friend asked me this week if I just sit lay on the dock all day waiting for birds to come by to photograph. . . .
Well, Um. . . .Ya! I do! Actually!
Here is my afternoon spot to try to capture the Warblers in the tree. I’ve yet to get one. . . .
Temperpedic Mattress and a cozy pillow with a book and coffee. I’m trying to learn the bird calls. If I lift my head, the calls change. If the boys come out, their calls REALLY freak out. When the coast is clear in their site they call their mate/buddy back and forth. There seems to always be a lookout bird making the calls, directing traffic. Really interesting!
In the morning I get dressed in my best birding outfit and sit on the dock waiting for the birds to fly by. I REALLY want to get a shot of a flying low over the water with the mirror reflection. Between 6 and 9ish the lake is flat and calm. So far, they fly in so quietly I do not hear them, or I’m not paying attention from reading my book.
So if you are ever in the mood to stop by in the morning, come around back and up the stairs, I’ll probably have plenty of blankets and coffee for ya!
