Unless you go with the flow – and change. . . .
We set off today with my dad and bellies full of biscuits and gravy – to visit the
We got there a half hour before it opened, so we wandered down the lane to the Jennifer Sears Glass Art Studio – Watched them make a paper weight and a sea star – Amazingly hoppingly busy. Watching the grinning faces of those picking up blown floats from yesterday is priceless.
Then we went back to the museum- and realized they are only open Wed-Sunday. Hmmm.
So we wandered around the corner to a local hot dog joint that we’ve seen advertised, only to find while we were waiting for a table that the least expensive hot dog was $6.95. Wowza. I’ve got hot dogs in the fridge – so we putted down the road to Burger King for $1.00 Slurpies and $1.00 Double Cheeseburgers. 🙂
But on the way to the BK – I pulled into the lane to the Taft Pioneer Cemetery – cause um – its fun? Of course its fun- the Views can’t be beat. 🙂
a view to the South –Siletz Bay
And to the North to Cascade Head
The view made me want to show my dad Pacific City a few miles to the north – so we headed out – with the boys entertaining us with their repertoire of jokes –
And went to the Inn at Cape Kawanda to get
Bunny Food.
And then head over to Webb Park to feed the bunnies. My dad wasn’t a believer – But we did find a few. The park host said there was a group of boys staying there and the bunnies were pretty well fed. We did end up seeing 8-9 bunnies – usually 20-30.
For some strange reason our trusting bunnies weren’t so thrilled to see little boys. 🙂
We drove across the street to the Pelican Pub and joined the throngs of people watching the surfers and the surf and the two crazy older, um chubbier, ladies who got their new car stuck in the sand by the surf. . . .
While jon ran off to go slide down the hill –

While my dad and I narrated the hijinks of the surfers helping the ladies get the front of their car plowed even further into the sand. . . .While sipping coffee from the Stimulus Cafe – where all t-shirts said – I got Stimulated at Cape Kawanda.
Then home – to check the emails – wait for the wind to calm down on the lake – and a little paddle boating and swimming. 🙂
This tour is available to you on Mondays and Tuesdays – Just let me know when you’d like to book your trip!

Very nice view and great contrast with the sea and sands.
