God Answers before We Ask

Yesterday, after my inventory of our supplies, I noticed that our science and history seemed to be a bit lacking for the upper grades.

This morning, I re-organized our reading shelves and noticed that there were alot of great Sonlight books there, that the boys had not read, and came across a Sonlight catalog.  I will figure out what we are “supposed” to be learning history wise this year, and then check out some books from the library.

This afternoon, we finished stacking almost 8 chords of wood for our neighbor.  When we were finished she mentioned that she had a box of science supplies – would we like them?  I almost started cracking up – Really? Are ya Kiddin’ Me?

A huge tote of every supply we could possibly need to complete just about any chemical process excluding brownies – which remains the favorite project of chemistry and math for my boys.

A National Compound microscope – used is over $250.00  – List price is over $400.00. and  an Ohaus Triple Beam scale valued at over $150.00.  All the supplies that go along with these tools are in the tub.

I am so giddy with excitement, and told her that I was noticing the lacking yesterday  – and she answered today.  She’s known us for quite a few months, and could have offered and had us bring them home day in the last two weeks we’ve been stacking wood. Timing Is Perfect. 🙂

The above, plus the huge map and a globe and maybe a pant size smaller – for this:

I can’t wait to have hot tea by her fire this winter. 🙂 And, for the record, I think she would have passed them on even if we wern’t trying to earn a forestry wood cutting badge of sorts. 🙂

(Nathan is now measuring the weight of my phone, a pen, a paper, a cord, a chopstick  . . . .)

I read this last night and pondered over how God’s timing is perfect. Thanks for bringing this story in light of just that. Sometimes we wait and sometimes we are delighted in Him answering our un-whispered prayers. I’m reveling in all of those fun things you’ve received, and in the wonderful new season you’re in right where you are. 🙂

That. Is. Awesome!!!! I’m very glad for you. 🙂 I think I best get busy going over my supplies and doing some praying of my own, 😉 It is so great the way Heavenly Father is aware of our needs!

  3. Loved this post! What a wonderful reminder that God’s timing is always perfect. We have a few of those stories we could share too and yet somehow I sometimes (okay, almost ALWAYS forget how beautifully He provides for us) fret over things when I really should just be waiting patiently. If only I’d learn! Can’t wait to read about how you use those incredible blessings. 🙂
