My Idea of a Balanced Diet

Take a sunrise walk on the beach.  A little over a mile each direction – in the soft sand – gathering 4 bags of garbage. Walk. Bend. Walk. Bend. Groan a little. Walk. Bend.  249 calories on the calculator. Times 2 for the soft sand. I’d say my butt would agree that we were in the soft sand 90% of the time today.

We dropped off the cans and garbage at 49th street then walked down to 34th. 34th to Road’s End and Back.
Then, since we were inspired by beaches and waves, we went to the Lighthouse.DSCN5478

Lighthouse Donuts that is. 🙂 Balanced. 🙂 Not even wanting to know how many calories that is.
We have a 15 minute challenge to walk around the yard today. Maybe if I go up and down the hill for 15 minutes?

Balanced. That’s my Life. 🙂 Life is Good!

    Sounds good to me!!!
My mouth watered at the donuts… Now I think I need call to hubby, “Honeeeey, don’t donuts sound good?” perhaps I can persuade him to go get some. Haven’t had a donut in years … literally!

…(the # of calories burned, since you were walking on sand)

LOL… Balance is so important! And a doughnut now and then is good for the soul. 😀

PS My husband used to run on the beach for track training when he was a teenager. It took 15 years after his graduation for anyone at his Highschool to beat his time on the track. I’m sure you can more than double those calories. 😉

  4. Having experienced the amazingly-gruelsome-soft-sand-walking-workout myself I’d say that it’s amazing you were even able to drag your butt to the donut shop! We barely managed to drag ours back to our vehicle! LOL
