We had a great time at the Connie Hansen Garden today.
The Turkey Vulture was eating  salmon on the beach when we went to walk the dog after our Nature Walk.
We heard frogs today!
I found out that the large red flowers on our deck will turn deep red and are called Sedum Autumn Joy.
Nathan’s favorite yellow tree is a deciduous called Hinoki Cypress, Gold Fern Spray Variety.

The boys filled out their notebooking pages on the railing of the bridge. Not the best spot for beautiful sketches – but they did great.

Join us at the Handbook of Nature Study to take a moment and enjoy the First Day of Autumn.

The garden is in beautiful fall bloom and color. Dad was off today so he got to walk with us – he kept us up in Huckleberries. 🙂

The smell of wood fires is in the air – the fragrance of fir shavings is abundant and sweet!
Signs of fall around here are the larger waves coming back, striping the beach of the sand.

  4. Lorus says:

    Fabulous pictures! Beautiful fall colors.

  5. Briana says:

What a fun idea for a walk!

The crazy loaded up car was found on our way home to Albuquerque in the middle of nowhere. We laughed so hard over that!

  6. This looks like a lot of fun! We are not experiencing much fall weather yet so our signs of autumn are still coming. The only thing that gives our yard a clue that it is autumn is that under our walnut tree there are tons of shells from the squirrels eating the unripe walnuts. 🙂

I loved your photos and your journals. Thanks so much for sharing your nature walk.

  7. Makita says:

    Great photos, as always! 😀

Huckleberries!!! One of the sweetest things I miss about living on the coast. Hope you were able to pick enough for a pie. They are the best!

  8. Paula says:

Now that is a nature study! It is nature all over. Too much to study…to admire.

I love to hear from my readers, I appreciate comments!
