We headed to the beach to take a walk up to the Cascade head, and were met with a new gate and some new signs that made us feel not so Welcome. Signs like, donβt park here, No trespassing, Private Property. Little things like that. So we took the beach walk instead. π We Nathan found some purple eggs on the beach. They were dried and rubbery β but seemed to not be dead. We put them closer to the water line after taking a photo. The storms have evened out the beach, taking out the river of sorts that September seems to put on the beach. Getting flatter every day. Agate Season is looking good, Nate found quite a few large colorful specimens. The air was warm, the sun setting and shining through the waves. OooWee Mama. Itβs beautiful. :
We came back from the beach to watch this beautiful sunset over the lake β this is my view from the kitchen while browning burger and onions for tacos. Ya. Life Is Good. π

Beautiful photos! Purple eggs are pretty cool too!
Beautiful pictures!
We usually head to the ocean {on the East Coast} around this time of year…but this year we headed to Washington state to visit family over the summer…so no beach vaca this year π
You guys are always finding something remarkable! When I was taking a class at OIMB, I stumbled upon a cluster of cigar shaped egg cases. I took them back to the lab in a bucket .. we put them on the salt-water table .. wouldn’t you know it .. they hatched! 1000s of tiny little squid .. it was so fun to watch the entire embryonic cycle. Your discovery reminded me …
That would have been fun! I might forward the picture to Hatfield and see what they say.Do you know of a good site for egg identification?
Purple eggs! What a beautiful thing to see! I wonder what they are?
We had tacos last night too…weird.
I am wishing we were coming to Oregon for some beach time and agate collecting but not this season. We will be heading to a another Pacific Ocean beach…one with palm trees. π
