Relaxed Unschoolers have days – Never Normal – Never the Same.  Today we got up to drive by the surfers for the 2010 Nelscott Reef Tow In Classic , the drive by turned into a couple of hours of playing at Canyon River Drive chatting with the surfers, press, and tourists. Joy was in the air Anticipation. Warm Sun.

We left the Nelscott Reef Town In Classic to run a couple of errands and then take Jon to some skate board lessons.  We left the skate park with a flat tire, and a dead battery. :)  We spent some time at the mechanic’s shops in town getting most of the items fixed, when Darren took the dog for a walk.  While playing with Jon in a gravel parking lot, Darren lost his balance at the same time that Rookie bolted for me. He want face first into the gravel – so we ended up spending 4 hours in the ER. 🙂 He has alot of stitches and a lot of embarrassment.  He’d like the official story to be that he was taking photos of the surfers at Nelscott and got hit by a log in the surf.  Thats Our Story. 🙂 We came home to a warm meal made by a friend and a Netflix Movie. Our one hour excursion turned into an 11 hour adventure. :0 Math and English  will still be there tomorrow. 🙂

I didn’t get any photos of the surfers actually in the surf today – but alot of photos of the teams launching them. They surf REALLY far out in the huge waves. 🙂

High Tide! No one was on the beach today! 

Hard to show the perspective of how high the waves are. Fun to watch the jet skis plow through the surf.

Walked by this family and saw that they were working on the clocks. They had nature journals out.
