Blue Agate found on the Beach!

Nate and I went out to play on the beach this morning – we found 2 different agate beds. Again, the bounty is so plentiful that we step over precious gems.

This trip I was focused on Sea Glass and White Rocks for our collection.

The waves surge east and west, creating music as each wave rolls the rocks back and forth. One gets accustomed to the rhythm. Every once in a while the music swells, which is an indication to walk east  – and fast!

On one such surge I nearly tripped over this beauty of a blue agate.  I couldn’t quite capture just how blue the little guy is, but you can see the purple band,  dark blue band, the white agate coating, clear parts inside and the “fingernail” marks all  over. Beautiful!

A perfect November Beachcoming Agate Walk Find in Lincoln County!

We both came home with a pocket full of carnelians, sea glass, jade and jasper. FUN!

We are all about the free – and we’d hook you up for sure! August is a hard month to find gems on the beach, but it is a good time to point your eyes up – and around – at the amazing landscape!

Lovely! When we were in Virginia we’d walk along the beach nearly daily in search of beach glass. My daughter has maybe 15 pieces as the fruit of our labor- and she cherishes each piece. We never found any cool rocks though. Maybe we’ll find some when we hit the West coast- on one of those 7 am tours, of course!:)

We sold the RV, but we do have our conversion van. We could be there ummm….say around next August? Will you still be there? In all seriousness, we are hoping to be out there briefly in late August. Maybe you could direct me to some inexpensive (meaning FREE) attractions that I shouldn’t miss? Please, please, please…:)

Oooo, so wonderful! I can almost feel it in my hand. When I was little there was a book about a Friendship Stone…

Maybe we should start learning about our local river rocks? Hmmm…
