40 Foot Swells, 300 Foot Waves

P1020126

Quite a bit of my childhood was spent in Coos Bay, Oregon – and this week we took a little field trip south to see some of the sites with the boys, soaking in the Christmas Activities, hooking up with the cousins – just a day, but it was fun.  In High School, I would drive my car out to this spot, or just a little farther, and walk to the edge of those cliffs. I spent a lot of time sitting out there, watching the waves crash.  40 foot swells with a 300 foot crashing wav is a common site.  Such was the case on Sunday evening, these cliffs are about 300 feet high . . .

We were really excited!  I’ll post our trip photos as I group them together. . . . By the Way, this is Shore Acres State Park, near Coos Bay, Oregon, Amazing.
