Labor Day Paddle–Of Waning Moons and Simmering Lakes

Woke up after an amazing night’s sleep – with a desire to get out on my lil Red Rocket Canoe. I wanted to stretch out my muscles before all of the Labor Day Boat traffic hit the lake! The lil tiny moon in the picture above actually looked pretty large and was reflecting quite a bit of light.

The view from the deck. Doesn’t look too foggy, and no one is out – I think it’s time to hit the water!

You may notice that the ocean has a large thick marine layer of fog. Made the colors in the sky beautiful this morning.

Took a little walk at Regatta Park – Stretch the legs. The dock was full of fishermen.

My canoe next to someone’s kayak at the park. The guy’s plates were from California. He didn’t utter a word or extend any gesture that I existed. Weird. Seems like you’d have a smile if you were ready to launch out into this lake!!

I love being able to see Cascade Head from the lake! There is a road up there at the top that has a fantastic view of the lake. We need to go take that hike before the trail closes for winter!

I stopped in at the “Stinky Paddler’s Café” but the barista was still asleep.  Off to home to get a cup of Joe.

Our side of the lake is still in the morning shade. The water is really warm, but the temps out side are  a bit under 50. Love the steam on the lake!
