Summer Lingers

So it was over 80 on the deck this afternoon. Sun blazin through the big picture window. Makes the boys stir crazy. We checked the surf reports but the swells were too close together and 15’ high. Jon – the 11 year old – hasn’t trained for that kind of action yet. He was pretty pouty when I said I wouldn’t drive down to Otter Rock at sunset, the action there was t 9’.  Still pretty high for  a Grom! But when you’re lookin’ out at this flat lake – it’s hard to realize that roar you hear is the ocean.

So he decided to swim and practice on the board in the lake again.  I sacrificed and played life guard with my camera in the canoe. I’m not going to lie – the high water is NICE!  All the algae build up on the beach is cleaned off. Just a quick shove off of the beach and I’m launched.  Nice.

Water Dog Mom. It’s a tough job.

Sorry kid, but I need to run out to the camp and back . . . .

Halfway back I run into Jon swimmin’ out!  Crazy kid.

Water is 64 still, according to the water improvement district’s website. Jon said he was hot. I think he is crazy.

Our little spot. I love that we have the open space next to us.  Every day – a Dream.

I was so excited that Nate got out the telescope tonight. He said the neighbors have cable. Go figure.

New moon, looking out from the deck.
