Baking Cupboard Makeover, THM

P1040694So this is where I live. A corner of the kitchen. Collection of Tupperware from garage sales and Goodwill.  The Kitchen Aide is below, measuring cups to the right. Gradma’s homesteading recipes there between Sugar and Brown Sugar. Good Whole Foods. Wholesome. Fresh. Best ingredients I can buy. And it’s killing me.

After reading Trim Healthy Mama – I’m learning I can still have whole foods, but in a better order to help me burn the food as fuel, instead of store it as fat.

I’ve purchased a few supplies to still enjoy baked goods, and have been frustrated trying to cram them into my pantry.

I keep working around these bad boys. Corn, Sugar, Brown Sugar and Flour.

I was trying to make Bread in a Mug to go along with my fried eggs.
Find ingredients, stuff them back in.

So here is how it stands today. the bottom shelf is now dedicated to our new baking products. Flax, Oats, Almond Four, Cocoa, Almonds, Nustevia, Coconut, Baking Powder, Extracts, Monk Fruit – and the new recipe book – Trim Healthy Mama. Sorry Grandma.

I’m leaving in the corn starch til I get a replacement thickener, my goal is no white flour/sugar. With that said, I left our regular Sugar container we usually use for visitors on their cereal or coffee. Raisins and Dark Choco chips, Tea, Baking Soda, Coconut oil, Truvia and Vanilla.  I didn’t mess with the top shelf very much.

Breakfast – Fried Eggs on toasted Bread in a Mug. Sea salt and pepper and fresh Tillamook Butter. MMMM. Don’t get me wrong, I love the eggs/sausage/pepper/cheese dishes. But I really enjoy fried eggs – with bread. (Flax, Egg Whites, Almond Flour, Baking Powder, Coconut Oil)

Now to figure out what to do with these bad boys. I’m thinking of looking for smaller containers for say a choco chip cookie sized portion or corn bread or such – and putting them on the top shelf up there. I did throw away the powdered sugar and agave. I will throw out the corn starch this week. I have several pkgs of powdered milk, not sure if I want to get rid of them, but I’ve had them unused for far too long.  Crisco? Yeast?  I need to check the baking coconut, I’m going to assume it has sugar in it, not just ground fine.
