If ya can’t lock the gate–Join em

My friends and I tease that there needs to be a gate on Highway 18 from Portland. It gets really slow, bumper to bumper, sometimes it is at a snails pace as far east as  Grand Ronde.  Like the lights on I-5, there should be stop lights along from McMinnville and Tigard that will only allow so many people at a time on hwy 18.  From our house, to get into town, we have to turn left into this line of traffic.  It makes me spend less money and use less gas, because I really have to wonder how long I want to stay in traffic – so many people enjoying the beaches here.

But then we get into town – a mere mile – see what we get as a prize?  I’d say if ya can’t beat em join em, but I really don’t want to hurt anyone or win anything. Except, maybe finding a float. We saw 2 people carrying floats into the Moe’s area of Taft on South 51st today. Or, rather, Nate and his friend did. I was camped out right here. Mesmerized.

So – Yes. We are going to “do spring break” this week. Winking smile

This is at the 48th street access looking south at the mouth of the Siletz River and on down to Salishan and Lincoln Beach.

Driftwood Jumping is Jon’s favorite game.  This is pretty far away from the water, we don’t driftwood jump at the water’s edge. That’s a little more risky.

This is a pretty steep cliff, Jon is walking up. He made a Sand Boarding Slope and was wearing himself out.  Yeah!

Coromonts or Loons out there in the black specks of the waves.  I took about 70 of these shots today.

Happy Go to the Beach Day with the Petra School for Spring Break!
