I have LOST my sense!

Well, I think I’ve LOST my senses – and so have my good friends!

Good thing I’m getting all geared up and excited for the Summer Nature Study –

Outdoor Hour Challenge – Summer Nature

Which sounds to be about Summer in the Evenings – Outside in the Warm Air – Using our Senses –

Except –

I received a gift of an Owl Pellet for my birthday from one of my best friends. Owl Gak. In a Zip Lock. No Card.  Ok, the card was in the mail and I SCREAMED with joy – then went to her house to look for more. . . . .

And today –

Special Delivery in a van with the license plate Mom Missile – I was hand delivered a half gallon jar full of water and Mosquito Larvae.

Seriously Folks.  We have a Mosquito Aquarium next to the Coffee Pot.

Rolls Eyes. . . . . . .

DSCN0987Barbara – I hope you’re having a lot of fun with this!!!! Making us study owl gak and things that want to suck our blood right after making us look at snakes.  Good Gravy Girl. Sigh.

Wander on over to the Handbook of Nature Study and get your self obsessed with all things naturally creepy yourself. . . . I dare ya. 🙂 I think she lets us visit plants and trees this summer.  I hope.

(I purchased the Spring and Summer E-Books and LOVE them –
I am JUST LOVE what Barb does – there’s plenty for free over there, and a few ways you can support her as well. Come join a great group of families this summer!)

This is GREAT! I am very inspired. We have done chicks and ducks and frogs and bunnies and even pigs, but never mosquitoes. What a BOY thing to do. You are an awesome mom.

Yesterday, my oldest daughter (age 6) ran up all excited (just before church and she is wearing her pretty church shoes and a frilly pink dress) with a huge grin on her face…”Lookee what I found, Mommy! Another dead bug for my dead bug collection. Where do you want me to put it?”

Homeschoolers. You can spot them a mile away.

“Where do You want me to put it”. Oh so young. My boys have learned to not ask me that question . . . .
We saw a family at the beach last week and asked if they were homeschoolers, they were from a tiny town on the other side of the state and acted surprised that we would know. It was the way the whole family was totally enjoying their experience that showed us they were at least a home learnin’ type of family. But. Of Course. They were homeschoolers. . . .

Sounds like everyone is going to have lots of fun at your house. I’ve enjoyed reading about your nature study’s. That’s something I need to get back to with my students.

I found your blog through the crew forum’s blog walk!

Nope. Sorry. I’ll do a lot of stuff. But I will.not.ever. grow mosquitoes on purpose. uh-uh no way no how

We’ve had tarantulas (is that spelled right?) and loads and loads of creepy crawly insects. There is a bag of mold growing on my dining room table (though I’ve about had it with *that* project too). But I draw the line at mosquitoes.

    LOL!

I LOVE Barb’s stuff! I have her Summer ebook as well. We’ll be getting started on that in a couple of weeks.
