Crawdad Eggs

Crawdad Eggs

Mama Crawfish with her Eggs

Nate did wonder what the eggs would taste like, but I assure you she was returned to her log unharmed post photo op. Nice little Crawdad mom with her eggs.  🙂

Update – November, 2010 – We have been finding quite a few large crawdads in the lakes around Lincoln City. The boys had a huge crawfish boil yesterday  – they like to put celery, garlic and onions in the pot and boil til they are pink.  I am excited for another season of crawdad trapping!  I dug this post out of the archives for the Animal Antics Link up at Guiding Light Homeschool.

Now you’ve got me longing for crawfish! They are a staple of the diet down in Louisiana and I have found memories of crawfish boils.

Good thing I like the halibut and salmon we can catch up here in Alaska, too :o)

Yuck and cool at the same time! What neat pictures!
