Jon is off having fun in the Rose City – so Nate and I set off to play tourist in our town. I printed off some Buy one Get One Free Blizzard Coupons off of their site – we visited a couple of touristy shops and got some stocking stuffers for Dad and Brother – (We really enjoyed Red Cock Gifts, Craftsman Outlet They have great prices and a little something for everyone and just the nicest gal ever at the table) – then went to the All-American Putt-N-Bat here in Lincoln City.
I was expecting something tiny, cramped, old, dark etc. I have seen a couple of pictures from a blurry cell phone of a birthday party. I had no idea how nice it would be. First of all – it is a homeschooler’s dream of a place. American History all over the place – they have spent their time in the details of maintaining the extremely well kept 17 holes, and have spent their creativity on the walls
That’s what I haven’t seen or heard from the locals – is how amazing the hand drawn art work is! An Oregon History Room, American History Room, and an Oregon Coast Room.
Throw in two full size batting cages, several nice video game machines, 3 pin ball machines and an air hockey table – and I’m thinking we’ve found the kid paradise of the Central Oregon Coast.
Nathan was a bit leery of the batting cages, so I took the first turn – 20 balls for $1.50 is a great deal. After the first couple of balls I hit them all – so Nathan had to try it.
He hit them all! Woot! He had to move over to the faster cage, and hit those as well. Eagle Eye Nate.
The tables all have historical baseball magazines, they sell an Oregon History Game at the counter – an they have a state of the art Baseball Sports Store in the back. Beautiful Equipment! They gave Nathan a free pass for Putt-Putt at the Community Bible School this summer – They should have people handing these passes out at D River and about town. We’d volunteer.
What a fun way to spend the afternoon!
