Nathan is working on a hydraulic arm project from Teacher Geek – it is a review item, I’ll tell you more about it later. He finished it on Tuesday and the boys have been playing with it just about every moment since.

We asked for the Artistic Pursuits Level 7 from The Crew to review – and we use it with our Harmony Art program.  Jon was working on some pastel blending.

He was pretty glad to learn about primary colors and  blending for more colors. It took him a while to rev up.  We watched some pastel videos from our Grade 4 curriculum from Harmony Fine Arts, then gave him time to just explore. He warmed up pretty well. We listened to the 4th Podcast for by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, our Composer, and then listened to a better known tune from the Tale of Tsar Saltan: Suite, Op. 57 – Flight of the Bumblebee.  I have had a few people argue with me on this tune this week – Yes, it is performed and arranged by Sergei Rachmaninov (Think Rock Mon In Off) – but it was composed by Rimsky. We also listened to a 7 year old – Shuan Hern Lee play  “Flight of the Bumblebee” – he is a chile piano prodigy on Australia’s Got Talent 2010 . Which led to listening to quite a few other pieces.

Have I mentioned that I LOVE my life here in Lincoln City as a homeschooler? That I love being able to review cool products for companies? That I love being a a mom? That I love my hubby and boys? Have you ever noticed that there is always a cup of coffee in my photos?  I love coffee too.  Did you notice on the first photo that the wind had blown the curtain all the way across the coffee counter? I love Oregon Storms too.
