American Bible Challenge–Giveaway!

I had heard of a new game show, hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, a few months ago. It would be called American Bible Challenge.  They were making casting calls for people to be on the show.  I had visions of extreme Bible sound offs in which only a veteran of AWANA or years of bible study would be able to participate. Although there wasn’t a town close to participate in, I passed.

Fast forward to this week – I was given the opportunity to watch the Making of the American Bible Challenge and share the game show with you.  I just finished watching the 20 minute video and WOW. I am impressed. It is nothing like I had envisioned.

It’s still a lot of bible knowledge. It’s Jeff Foxworthy. It’s great groups of contestants.  The Players are not playin’ for themselves, they are playing to win monies for their favorite charities.  It looks like there will be a few tear jerkers learning about the needs fulfilled by the workers – and you may come away from the show ready to volunteer and get involved.

This is a fun funny show that celebrates the bible. A game show unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

One thing I like, is that in the Final Round – you get the topic idea like “Dreams” and they send your team into a room for 20 minutes of study to prepare for the final round. It was fun to see how these teams broke up the study time.

The producers stressed that they wanted a fun relevant show that would stay respectful to then Bible. The questions come from the text, stories, people, and history. They should not be offensive to bible reading people. An evangelical pastor was one of the producers and reviewers, however, they stated that the text is based on historical factual questions and answers.

I saw quite a few rounds of the show and it seems like a combination of So You Think You’re a 5th Grader, Minute to Win it, Millionaire, and a little bit of Family Feud.  Which makes sense, as the producers for this show, are also the producers for many of the shows for Game Show Network.

The motto for the show: If you don’t know your bible you don’t have a prayer –

You’ll want to watch Thursday, August 23rd on 8 / 7 Central on Game Show Network.

I have a The American Bible Challenge T-Shirt AND a Zondervan Quest Bible as a giveaway while sharing this show!
