Camp Mil-Mar Style of course.
Toss the boy into the lake to pick up golf balls.
Sit down with some Pepperidge Farm Baked Naturals Simply Potato Cracker Chips. mmmm oh – and a writing book for the High Schooler.
Notice a friend has stopped by while reading 14 Minute Power Surges for April.
“Did you say Simply Potato Cracker Chips???? mmmmmm” Says Lake Gull
“No, I said I was working on writing lesson plans for Nate!” “Can’t we do both?”, asks Gull?
Meanwhile, the little lake seal has been picking up golf balls. Send him out again!
14 minute power surge prompts: Give a topic for you student with a 14 minute time limit. Provide topic prompts, Writing with Sharon Watson gives prompts for each week of each school year month. No grades, just brainstorming. On Friday have the student pick one paper to create a finished paper to turn in on Monday. Sharon Watson gives a lot more detail, but that is the gist of it.
Good to know about the game. That sounds like the way we play Ride The Train.
I’m now convinced I need to buy wetsuits for my boys. The lake we go to in the summer is usually in the 60s but sometimes it’s still in the 50s depending on how early we go. Does your lake warm up enough to ditch the wetsuits? Mine also have to fetch golf balls from the lake. Your kiddo looks pretty happy doing that!
I love these pictures – and your dialogue. So funny! How thick is that wetsuit? The water must be COLD where you are!
I want to report that the modifications to the Saxon Math lessons has been very helpful! And our first 10 days game arrived today. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
So glad to hear! We have 5/4, he has an extra special hoodie, it has a vest tucked under his wetsuit so water doesn’t go into his suit from the neck. Booties and Gloves makes it so that you really don’t get very wet, and the moisture gets warmed by body heat. I have a 5/4 and used it in the lake this morning – Water is 41 and air was 39 for my paddle this mid morning at 11. Brr heerrr hrrr. As Jon says – we need a nose warmer out there for sure! Glad the Saxon lessons are doing well. OH on the 10 day game? WE let people choose 10 cards from the pile, and directionally arrange them in their journey, when everyone is set, we call ready, and then the cards can not be moved from that point, except for replacing from drawing and discard piles. The instructions say to pull ten cards out and put them in the tray and go from there. That’s just not a whole lot of encouraging fun.
