I was excited to go to Coos Bay, because Sunset Beach is really protected.  It is a small bay and the rocks block both a south and north wind. Small swells come through, but no waves really. The perfect spot to UP in the Ocean officially – but be protected.  Above – This is Nate coming back in from getting to the outside.

It is a bit intimidating to be out there alone.  So far away from shore – the open ocean plays mind games with us.

Jon and Nate played in the bay for several hours.
