I think I’ve mumbled about it before, but the life of a homeschool moms, surf mom, Tyndale House Publishers reviewer can be tough at times.
His Treasure by Sheri Rose Shepherd
If you have ever struggled to find a way to connect your heart to your heavenly Father, His Treasure is the book for you. In the tradition of Sheri Rose Shepherd’s bestselling His Princess series (with over one million in print) comes this book of beautiful “love letters” from God that will remind you of your priceless worth in Christ. Each scriptural love letter is written in language that speaks to the heart of every woman. You’ll discover treasures of truth, real love, and wisdom from God’s Word. Get ready for an amazing encounter with your King!
I wish you could sit with me at the beach and enjoy this book. It is small, about the size of my hand. It is beautiful with puffed hard covers. Soft to the touch, with beautiful vintage images that will fit into your quiet tea time.
The pages have a beautiful mixture of encouragement from Sheri Rose Shepherd and the Word with Treasures of Truth quotes.
If not for the fact that this is a beautiful book, you might feel inclined to clip the pages and hang these in frames.
I read through the book page by page, thumbing through some, pausing at others, putting down the book at times to soak in the truth and make it real to my heart.
You might come to the book with a question – the index was built for that purpose.
At first, when reading through the posts, I wondered if this was a book for troubled women. Was every entry going to identify with ‘how hard your life is’ and give you a quick nugget of hope? Well. A few of the pages feel that way, and I’d suppose that you know people walking through these hard seasons. But there are also every day encouragements there for every woman, no matter what her circumstance is.
This is the perfect size for any handbag.
I spend a lot of time, alone, watching this little 12 year old surf. I need encouragement. I have heard Sheri Rose Shepherd speak when she was in Bend, Oregon. She is very encouraging to homeschool moms, however this is neither a homeschool or mom book.
If you are looking for encouragement or a nice gift for under $15.00 a friend this holiday season, I recommend this book.
