Legos and Wheels–Challenge #3

Building Blocks Blogger’s Challenge 3 Legos and Wheels

I haven’t blogged about it this year, but we are thick in the last few weeks of the First Lego League’s Food Challenge.  This year, the kids are still in the design stage of the robot, which has made this little coach’s heart pitter patter.  Even this past Monday they designed 2 robots and we left with just a few parts on the table.

Nathan came home and built a Vertical Robot with the smallest wheels with one engine. It was a challenge thrown out by our awesome Robot/Engineering Mentor this week.  This little bot can flat out move. It was created with some spare parts that Nate traded for a StarWars Minifig, a piece from a Ferris Wheel? package. You can’t program it, it just turns, but I think he learned quite a bit on his own yesterday!

I had listed the core objectives of the day –
